The groups are responsible for scrutinising the RIIO2 business plan and reviewing engagement with stakeholders. In this blog, Trisha shares her views of the first meeting and what lies ahead.
“I was delighted to Chair the first National Grid Stakeholder Group meeting on Friday 9 July.
“National Grid has recruited a diverse range of stakeholders to review and challenge their business plans for the next price control period; from consumer representatives, public interest groups and new business models, as well as traditional customers and other energy networks.
“The wide range of perspectives were clear to see at our first meeting, where we spent time developing our ways of working as a team, reviewing National Grid’s approach to constructive engagement and forward plans.
“We were also joined by Ofgem to hear their views on the role of the group and by Nicola Shaw, National Grid’s UK Executive Director, who encouraged us to challenge the company on the different perspectives we can bring.
“The hard work starts now, as we start getting into the detail of National Grid’s plan at our next meeting at the end of July. Please check back in to hear my views on the groups’ work as we start reviewing and challenging.”
